MOVEMENT of CARDS GROWS 17.7%

Credit and debit cards reached $ 223 billion in the first quarter of this year, a figure 17.7% over the same range of 2013, according to the Brazilian Association of credit card companies and services (Abecs). Were 2.4 billion transactions with plastics in the first three months of the year, growth of 12.5%, on the same basis of comparison. The entity attributes the growth to the continuing replacement of means of payment on the part of consumers, as well as the expansion of e-commerce and the entrance of new niches of trade and service in the system of cards.
