GLOBAL CONSUMPTION of LIQUID MILK SHOULD INCREASE 7.5% up to 2015

Until 2015, the yogurt should grow at an annual rate of 4.5%. Last year, the consumption of yoghurt totaled 7.7 billion liters, according to the company. Already the flavoured milk consumption will jump 4.1% per year, driven by sales in developing countries. Last year, the world population consumed 17 billion liters of the product.
The so-called "white milk", including powdered milk, pasteurised and UHT MILK, will have more modest growth, of 1.7% per year until 2015. The segment represents much of the consumption of liquid milk, with anticipated sales 219 billion gallons in two years. In 2012, the white milk consumption totaled 208.5 billion.
In Brazil, Tetra Pak provides high between 2% to 4% in liquid milk consumption until 2015. The country is named as one of the main poles of growth of sales of flavored milk. Between 2009 and 2012, the Brazilians extended the consumption of this type of product to an annual average of 14.5%.
