Anvisa prohibits sale of tomato extract batch with '' strange matter ''

The national health surveillance agency (Anvisa) banned the sale of a batch of tomato paste Elephant brand after a report finds "foreign matter", according to a decision published on Monday (30) in the Official Gazette.
According to Anvisa, the substance indicates "human health risk above the upper limit of tolerance".

The price of the ripe tomato rose nearly 50% in last weekend, according to a bulletin of the Center for advanced studies in applied economics (Cepea), linked to the Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (Esalq/USP).
