Goes up demand for consumer credit in January

The demand for consumer credit, according to national data from the Boa Vista SCPC (Service Central de credit protection), increased 1.4 percent in January, in assessing purged of seasonal factors against December. However, in the assessment of cumulative values in 12 months (February 2016 until January 2017 before the 12 months background) there was no retraction of 9.2 percent, while year-to-year analysis (against the same month of the previous year) was decrease of 1.9%.
According to analysts, despite some economic improvements already underway, the results of the trend of the indicator still shows a demand for credit weakened. Factors like high interest rates, negative real yields and high unemployment still show as variables of this scenario, restrictions that impose greater caution and an aversion to consumption by households.
