Shoe start to retrieve sales

The President of Brazilian footwear industries Association (Abicalçados), Hector Klein said yesterday that begins to see room for recovery in the production of footwear in the country. "The industry hit bottom in the first months of this year, but it''s starting to get out of it, with a gradual improvement in sales in the domestic market," said Klein.
According to the Executive, retail sales showed improvement in May and June, influenced by the autumn colder compared to the historical average. He also said that part of retailing shows more confidence in the recovery of the country, due to advances in the process of impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff (PT) and, therefore, begins to increase orders for the second half of the year.
"Next year, the prospect is that the footwear industry achieves a result equal to or slightly higher than sales recorded in 2015. But it will be a small recovery, "said Klein.
According to Brazilian Association of Retailers and Shoe artifacts (Ablac), during the first five months of this year, retail footwear sales fell 8% in volume and 18% in revenue.
Klein sees room for Brazilian industries double sales to Argentina in a few years. In 2015, the exports to the neighboring country amounted to 8 million pairs.
