Sharp Lcd Division merger deals with Hon Hai

TOKYO-the Sharp Corp. is negotiating with Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry for a merger of its Division of flat screens, two sources familiar with the matter.
Under the proposed plan, Sharp will dismember the Division into a separate unit before the unit will receive investments of Hon Hai and possible injections of resources from other groups, including the State-owned Innovation Network Corporation of Japan, said the sources.
The talks came after the Chief Executive of Sharp, Kozo Takahashi, saying last month that he was ready for a major restructuring of the area of liquid crystal screens (LCD) and consumer electronics, while investors and analysts charged by a review of the company's business.
Previous talks on the merger between the Sharp and Hon Hai have failed in 2012.
