The UNITED STATES opposes the transfer of white line of GE to Electrolux

The authorities of the United States announced on Wednesday that it opposes the transfer of Department of white line of home appliances manufacturer General Electric (GE) to the Swedish group Electrolux.
According to them, the operation may cause the price increase to consumers, by lack of competition.
The Department of Justice (DoJ) decided to go to the courts to validate that decision, as that requires the American competition regulation, according to the statement.

"The proposal of Electrolux to acquire domestic appliances activity of General Electric will leave millions of Americans vulnerable to rising prices," said one of the Deputy Ministers of Justice, Leslie Overton, in charge of the Antitrust Division.
The u.s. industrial conglomerate rejects those arguments and says it expects to complete the operation this year.
"GE intends to vigorously defend this assignment as something that goes against the competitiveness and not as something good for the consumer," wrote the Fairfield group in an email to AFP.
