JBS will invest $ 420 million for deployment of refrigerator for peru in MS

The fridge JBS will start next year, the project of the biggest fridge of slaughter of turkeys of Latin America. The unit will be installed in Itaporã (MS) – 225 km distant from the Capital. The investment will be about $ 420 million.

The industry will receive all infrastructure in the old Fridge Pedra Bonita located in MS-270-Rural Area, receiving incentives from the State Government and the municipality. The unit will have capacity to shoot up to 36 thousand turkeys/day and 112 avian modules.
All in all should be generated from the 600 thousand direct jobs, being in this first moment, approximately 400 only with the construction of hatcheries, feed mill and farms, in addition to the transport sector of products and animals. According to the Mayor, JBS intends to invest $ 700 million over four years, with 620 million reais in Itaporã and more 80 million in Gold to the slaughtering of turkeys.
According to Rodrigo Garziera, Coordinator responsible for the implementation of the project, the capacity of the refrigerator will be enough to shoot down 36 thousand turkeys a day, approximate number of 450 tons of the product. The work starts in the field as of 2016, as the birds mature in about a year to complete the cycle of slaughter beginning planned for industry activities in 2018. The production will be distributed to the whole world.
