Harvest records 87% high in the production and sales of natural chicken

The harvest, one of the brands of the food company JBS, increased by 87% and sales volume of natural chicken in 2017 in comparison with the previous year. The company started this movement in 2015 when it launched a line without antibiotics, hormones and preservatives under the Seara brand DaGranja.
"Currently, about 40% of consumers have as the main driver of purchase the healthiness of food, in which the chickens have a natural highlight. When we compare December 2017 at the same month of 2016, for example, registered an increase of 118% and 212% in sales, "she adds," explains Ivan Siqueira, Executive Director of In Natura for the internal market of the harvest.
The harvest is increasing the number of plants that produce the products from natural chickens. Besides Amparo (SP), the company enabled recently the unit of Itapetininga (SP) and another plant should receive the product line in the first quarter of 2018. "The expectation of the harvest to 2018 is at least double the volume of items produced in this segment," says Sethi.

Seara DaGranja portfolio has 18 products, ranging from whole chickens, cuts in tray, zip bags with frozen products individually (IQF), to an exclusive line of ready meals made with natural ingredients and packaging that goes straight from the freezer to the oven. In 2017, the company also launched the Seara DaGranja line Turma da Mônica, with cuts made manually and size suitable for children, sold in packs of 600 grams.
