Coffee exports totaled $ 4.6 bi YTD

Brazilian exports of green coffee, roasted, ground and soluble amounted, in the period from January to September this year, $ 4.6 billion, equivalent to 26.8 million bags.
The numbers listed in the Statistical Report, released yesterday by the Ministry of Agricultural Policy (SPA) of the Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (Mapa).
In comparison with the same period in 2014, there was a fall of 1.43 percent in value and 0.36% in volume exported. From January to September of last year, shipments of the product totaled $ 4.67 billion, representing 26.9 million bags. This reduction is due to the bienalidade of Brazilian culture of coffee-a harvest cycle higher and another lower.
According to the report, the product has 6.9% share in exports of Brazilian agribusiness. The main destinations are the United States, Germany, Italy, Japan, Belgium and the United Kingdom. Coffee is the fifth item on the agenda of Brazil's exports.
The estimate by the national supply company (Conab) is that the 2015/16 reach 42.1 million bags, in the area of 1.93 million hectares. In relation to the 2014/2015 period, these figures represent a reduction of 7% and 0.9%, respectively, when the Brazilian harvest was 45.3 million bags, with a cultivated area of 1.94 million hectares.
Possession in the CeCafé
Took office yesterday the new board the CeCafé (Council of Brazil's coffee Exporters), elected at the last meeting of the Council held in July. The institution has been operating for 25 years ahead of important resolutions for the advance of exports of Brazilian coffee in the world.
Currently, the entity is composed of 139 companies, which together represent 95% of all green coffee exported to 129 countries.
