Electrolux confirms investment of r $ 250 million in the State of Paraná

The Government of Parana reported on Tuesday that Electrolux, maker of household appliances, has confirmed investment of r $ 250 million for the construction of a new plant of refrigerators in the municipality of Lapa, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba.
The information was given to the Governor of Paraná, Beto Richa, Vice-President of operations for Electrolux, Ramez Chamma, at an event held at the Palácio Iguaçu, in Curitiba.
The venture is backed by the State Government, through the Paraná competitive, stimulating industrialization program of the State. The factory is expected to create 800 direct jobs and more than 2 thousand indirect, informed Chamma. "We already have in Curitiba the largest factory in the world of the Electrolux Group and now, with the new unit, the Paraná will consolidate as the polo cooled Brazil and one of the largest in the world," said the Executive. Electrolux, based in Sweden, has five factories in Brazil and more than 13,600 employees and indirect, said Chamma.
The value had informed the Electrolux investment plan in the State of Paraná, in the amount of r $ 250 million, in September 2013, when a memorandum of understanding was signed by the company with the State Government, which pledged to give tax incentives, such as tax reduction on the circulation of Goods and services (ICMS).
