Canon makes recall of camera

The manufacturer of Canon cameras in Brazil summons, this Friday (10), owners of compact cameras PowerShot model SX50 HS, manufactured between September 1st and November 15, 2013, contact customer service (SAC) of the company for the proper repair, says the Foundation Procon. According to the manufacturer, a substance in the equipment can cause allergy and redness in the eyes.
The recall applies to serial numbers that contain 69, 70 or 71 during the first two digits and the number 1 on the sixth digit.
In the statement the company reports have found that the rubber part of the display of the camera can be white as a result of the existence of a substance called zinc bis (N, N-dimethyldithiocarbamate), used to speed up the manufacture of rubber.
"When in contact with the skin of sensitive people, this substance can cause allergic reactions, such as rash and redness in the eyes. For this reason, the use of rubber viewfinder should be suspended until its replacement, "says the Procon.
The company offers the phone (11) 4950-5060 (for those who live in Sao Paulo) or 0800-20-22666 (other locations), and the Web site www.canon.com.br for more information.
