Robust debut

Came to Brazil this month an important actor in the Smartphone market. The Chinese Huawei is the fourth-largest seller of category in the world, behind Samsung, LG and Apple in the first quarter of 2013.
His debut in the country is with Ascend G510, a reasonable price and model that offers good specs for the price (more appliances will come to the end of the year).
Initially, offered only on Live operator, he has a suggested retail price of $ 699 on pre-paid plan. But, as the Advisory reports, may reach R $ 79 on some of the options.
Not bad for a device with a 4.5-inch screen (iPhone 5 has 4 inches) and a good quality of workmanship and material. One of the things that caught my attention in the initial handling of the apparatus was the impression of strength and firmness.
The trade-off is that with 150 grams, it is one of the heavier models off the shelf (the iPhone 5 has 112 grams). Even with all that weight, the Ascend G510 is not uncomfortable or awkward in the hand.
The 1.2 GHz processor is a good specification too for that price range. The OS is Android 4.1.
It comes with a "layer" of Huawei called Emotion UI, which brings some customization features of the phone. The two most interesting are a widget that gathers information and functions on the main screen and the recognition of voice commands (compatible with Brazilian Portuguese).
A pity that the internal storage is not up to the phone, with only 4 gigabytes. It is possible to expand this capacity with a microSD card of up to 32 gigabytes. Put this card is a bit laborious, since it requires removing the rear cover of the unit to arrive on your doorstep.
The camera part is correct, with 5 megapixel camera for photos and 720 p for making videos.
Ascend's screen looks normal and certainly G510 won't win praise for its resolution or brightness. In short: a discrete cell, but that solves basic demands.
