Vehicle production rises 8.2% in April

The production of motor vehicles rose by 8.2% in April compared with the previous month, discounting the seasonal effects, pointed out the Monthly Industrial Research – Physical Production (PIM-PF Brazil), released on Tuesday by the Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics (IBGE).
It is the second consecutive increase in this segment, which garnered high of 15.6% in March and April.
The monthly result was the best for the motor vehicle sector since March last year, when production of the segment rose 10.6% compared to February, in the series purged of seasonal factors.
Compared with April last year, the production of motor vehicles grew by 23.9%, while, in 2013, had accumulated high of 15.2% and, in 12 months, falling 3.8%.
