Iveco will launch in Brazil its top model in Europe

After a fall of about 20% in sales of trucks last year in Brazil, the reaction observed already in the first months of this year should lead to an increase of 7% to 9%. The evaluation is from Italian Marco Mazzu, President of Fiat Latin America Industrial, owner of the Iveco brand. The company leverages this reaction to her top model trucks, circulating in Europe mainly in long paths.
In 2012, the retraction was triggered by fears caused by the world economy and by the entry of new standard of motor trucks in the country, the Euro 5, says the Executive. But this year, the scenario changed. "Making a projection of the four quarters of this year, what happened and what still lies ahead, I would say the market rally might not reach 10%, but will not be much below that, somewhere between 7% to 9%," he said. If projections will confirm if economists are right and the Government and the economy to grow this year between 2% to 3%, he says.
What has contributed to the manufacture and sales of trucks this year is the fact that demand has been suppressed in the past year, being made up now. Agribusiness is one of the sectors that help to heat up sales. "Agriculture is very well and she is one of the driving forces of transport in Brazil."
Mazzu attended yesterday the inauguration of Defense vehicles in the mining town of Sete Lagoas. Is a new line of products that the company will produce in Brazil. In this first phase, being produced a batch of armored 86 Guarani for the army.
The Commission reaffirmed that the company has talked with armies of other countries and the conversations are in Argentina, Chile and early Colombia. The unit has the capacity to produce 100 vehicles per year, reaching 200. The Brazilian Army evaluates another vehicle Iveco LMV, the military, which is only produced in Europe, but that can be mounted also in mines.
Installed in Brazil since 1997, the Iveco recently entered in the bus, fire fighting trucks and military vehicles. Its main industry, however, remains that of trucks. The company expanded its share in the domestic market of 3% to 9%.
The new product which has imminent release, second Mazzu, is an extra heavy truck to compete with the top models of Volvo and Scania.
The Executive is optimistic about the prospects for the coming years. "The stabilization of Brazil makes that still have a strong income growth space and consequently growth of the internal market, which affects positively the truck market."
