Car dealerships increase sales forecast in 2018

The car dealerships raised on Tuesday its projections of sales of new vehicles this year, estimating 15,2% growth in car and light commercial licensing and 13,9% for trucks and buses.
The expectation of the National Federation of distribution of motor vehicles (Fenabrave) is that sales of cars and light commercial new disappear 2.5 million this year, compared with expectations disclosed in January 2,430,000 units.
Already the prediction for trucks and buses is 76500 ante January projection units 72900.
The estimates were revised after sales of cars, light commercials, trucks and buses rose 32,2% in March compared to February and 9,7% before March 2017, to 207,379 vehicles.
Fenabrave's President, Alaric Assumpção Jr, said that March sales "motivated us to revise the projections". According to him, the daily average March sales amounted to 13600 ante 11001 level vehicles the year before. In the quarter, the sale was 7800 vehicles daily.
"The recovery is occurring gradually. We have found more confidence in consumers and lower delinquencies, "Fenabrave's President said to journalists. Among the reasons for the optimism of the entity is the first quarter with growth in sales of motorcycles from 2011 and also strong expansion in sales of trucks.
In the case of motorcycles, the Fenabrave data indicate back to growth in the segment of low cylinder capacity, long used by parcel delivery professionals in major centers. According to Vice President Carlos Porto, the ten requests for funding of only two are accepted by banks. But it's a better situation than a year ago, when the approval rating was 1.2.
"The employment (formal) didn't come back, but there's been a growth in casual employment and people came back looking bike, in addition, the banks are more malleable," said Porto, stating that the growth of motorcycle licenses for now is more concentrated in the South and Southeast of the country.
In the truck segment, Fenabrave's President came to comment that it is possible that the automakers find difficulties in supplying the market of heavy and extra heavy by the end of the year before a conjunction of factors including crop maintenance strong agricultural and limitations on production capacity of auto parts suppliers. Assumption Junior cited that European and North American markets are trucks with very high demand and factories in Brazil depends on many components that are imported from suppliers in countries like United States, Germany and Japan, which can make it difficult to offer of these parts in Brazil.
According to the Fenabrave Vice-President for trucks, Sérgio Zonta, the automakers, many still working with just one work shift, the production of heavy and extra-heavy, models with a capacity of more than 30 tons, all sold until September. He also commented that this year carriers began renovation of their fleets of heavy trucks and extra and that falling interest rates are helping to boost sales in the country.
"Every five years the truck collects 1 million kilometers traveled and when at that point the carrier has to change to not raise maintenance costs. The last big shopping cycle occurred in 2013. "
In the first quarter, sales of new trucks in Brazil have risen 51,7% over a year before, to 14700 units. Sales of buses rose 40%, to 3500.
