With Gisele Bündchen, invoice 3% more P&G

Procter Gamble & (P&G), largest manufacturer of consumer goods surged 3% of organic sales (excluding exchange rate effects and acquisitions, among other items) in the second fiscal quarter to December, compared to the previous year, to $ 22.2 billion. In volume, the high was 2%. Developing countries pulled the growth of owner of Gillette, Ariel and Pampers. Brazil and India have advanced above 20% in organic sales.
The net profit of the multinational grew 140% in the quarter, to $ 4.06 billion. The result was higher than expected and the P&G raised its target for earnings per share and sales for the fiscal year ended in June 2013. Its shares ended the trading session higher Friday on the New York Stock Exchange.
The company said it has "strong improvement in productivity" in the period, as a result of its restructuring plan and cost-cutting. Procter will dismiss about eleven thousand employees (which excludes workers from factories) until 2016.
In Brazil, the orders of oral care products increased by over 50% in the last three months of 2012 as compared to the same period last year, driven by the launch of Oral-B 3D White tooth, whose poster girl is the model Gisele Bundchen, and the national reach of distribution, the company said. Since December, the Brazilian subsidiary has a new President, the Brazilian Alberto Carvalho, former Vice President of Gillette. He took over the operation after six years under the command of the Egyptian Tarek Farahat, who became President of P&G in Latin America.
