AkzoNobel will unite two manufacturing plants in Brazil

In turn, the activities of Specialty Finishes will be transferred to the unit of Automotive Coatings, Aerospace & located in São Bernardo do Campo (SP).
The change must be terminated until may 2014 and was planned in such a way that there is no interruption in the production and/or customer service. With this integration, the Santo André plant will become the largest unit of Brazilian production of Performance Coatings of AkzoNobel.
AkzoNobel's activities in Brazil are divided into its three main areas of World Affairs: Decorative Paints; Performance Coatings and specialty chemicals. Each area has business units dedicated to specific services. In Decorative Paints, the company works with the Coral and Sparlack brands. Within Performance Coatings, there are Automotive units & Aerospace Coatings (Wanda and brands Sikkens); Marine & Protective Coatings (International brand); Powder Coatings (Interpon marks and Resicoat), Industrial Coatings (Coil Coatings, Packaging Coatings and Wood Finishes and Adhesives, which includes Resins Iguatu). Already, in specialty chemicals, Pulp units are included and Performance Chemicals (Eka), the Surface Chemistry and Functional Chemicals. Are, in all, 2,900 employees distributed in 15 factories in six States and that make Brazil the fourth biggest market for the company.
