BASF Coatings portfolio greater sight

The German Basf has completed the acquisition of a global, Chemetall surface treatment of Albemarle, for $3.2 billion. With the deal, Basf advises that will expand its portfolio in the segment of paints.
The manufacturer says in a statement that, together, the deals will benefit the global infrastructure, scale and market access of each of the companies.
"Basf expects a great ally to the innovation capabilities to provide unmatched solutions to its customers," said the company in a statement.
The Chemetall develops and manufactures technology solutions and custom systems for surface treatment. Its products protect metals from corrosion, in addition to other purposes, and are used in a wide range of industries such as automotive, for example.
