Buy Well is the Regional brand of the GPA

In October, the GPA initiated the first operation of the Buy Right in Taubaté, São Paulo State. Since then, the network already sum five units in the State of São Paulo, the last was inaugurated last week in Guarulhos. In an exclusive interview to the newspaper Fun News, Sérgio Leite, Executive Director of the Buy Right, explains that the idea of resuming the flag came about after a market assessment carried out about a year ago. "We perceive a strong advancement of regional networks, with a focus on service and customer proximity. Thus, the main purpose of the network, according to the Director, is being close to consumers. Focus on Perishables With assortment between five and 7000 items, the stores have fresh produce sectors, butcher, bakery, sausages, dairy products, groceries, perfumes, cleaning and Bazaar. The logistics of products has two modes: "we chose to receive the direct supplier in store perishables for a matter of quality and freshness of the food. Already the supply of non-perishable is done through a distribution center located in Irvine (SP) ". According to Sérgio, the flag is market perishable and products characteristic of the region, for it, much of the mix is produced by suppliers and, especially, regional State. Expansion plans With the prospect of ending the year with 13 branches, the Executive Director whisper that the Buy Well is a pilot project. "We will go through a period of evaluation, but we intend to move ahead with expansion accelerated level" comments. The Executive confides that, with the flag, the GPA aims to stimulate the growth of the company in the supermarket channel and intends to expand the operation to the whole country, however, the possibility is being studied.
