Sale of mobile phones in Brazil grows 5.9% in 2nd Qtr, points IDC

SÃO PAULO-sales of mobile phones grew 5,9% in Brazil in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, reported on Friday the IDC consultancy Brazil, citing the replacement of appliances such as one of the factors for the good performance of the sector.
The marketing of 12.8 million of equipment is 3,7% greater than the amount sold in the first quarter of the year, according to IDC.

Considering the results of the first and second quarters and the trend of resumption of the market, the forecast of the consultancy for the year is positive.
"Our forecast is what the market reaches 49 million handsets sold this year, a number that is larger 12,6% towards 2016" said Munin.
