China will expand number of refrigerators Brazilians eligible to export, says Maggi

SAO PAULO-the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, has allowed an expansion in the number of refrigerators of Brazil that have authorization to export to China and confessed to a "love" for the meat of the country, said Minister of agriculture, Blairo Maggi, on Friday.
"It was very gratifying to hear the President Xi Jinping saying the following: ' I like the meat from Brazil, I love the brazilian meat, I'm a poster boy of brazilian meat," said Maggi in a video posted on Twitter after a meeting with the Chinese leader.
He said the decision to allow exports of most refrigerators of the South American country, which was hit by a scandal due to the low standards of food inspection earlier this year, was the result of a series of trips to China.
Maggi congratulated all involved, but gave no further details about the terms of the agreement.
The Brazil is among the few countries that have, in General, a trade surplus with China, thanks to the main exports of agricultural products, minerals and oil.
The country exported meat volume corresponding to 1.75 billion dollars to China in 2016, with chicken meat and bovine responding largely, according to a statement on the website of the Ministry of agriculture that reproduced the statements of Maggi.
The links to the information Office of the State Council, the highest authority in China, weren't answered after business hours in Beijing.
