CADE approves Ceusa purchase without restriction by Duratex

The Administrative Council for economic Defense (Cade) approved without restrictions the acquisition by the company catarinense Duratex ceramic tiles and Ceusa tiles, according to order published in the Official Gazette on Monday.
The antitrust body ruled that the purchase operation of the entire share capital of Ceramic companies Urussanga and Massima ceramic tiles, which form the Ceusa, the Duratex does not imply market concentration.
"It can be considered that the operation is a mere replacement of economic agent in the market of ceramic tiles from the entry of Duratex in this market, both from the perspective of demand and supply," said Cade.
The producer of wooden panels and sanitary vitreous Chinaware and metal fittings Duratex, controlled by itasa and Ligna, announced the acquisition of Ceusa by 280 million reais at the end of August.
