Renault''s sales grow 10.4 percent and hit record on the 1st semester

PARIS-the French automaker Renault has recorded record sales in the first half, having elevated in 10,4% Global deliveries with the launch of an SUV in China and the reopening of the operations in Iran.
Renault sold 1.88 million light vehicles from January to June, according to the company, four times the pace of expansion of the global car market 2,6%.
Based in the suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt in Paris, Renault is reaping the fruits of a broad reorganization of the production line under the command of chief designer Laurens van den Acker, who joined the company eight years ago.
Sales also benefited from the increased demand in Europe for the brand Dacia and, more recently, by the success of the mini-SUV Snap.
"Our strategy of geographical expansion and renewal continues to produce results," said Sales Director, Thierry Koskas.
Renault shares climbed more than 1% at the beginning of the business.
The French carmaker''s sales numbers contrasted the rival PSA, the car manufacturer Peugeot, Citröen and DS in the first half.
In Europe, which still accounts for more than half of sales, Renault 5,6% deliveries grew, outpacing the market thanks to the increase of 9,3% Dacia brand after a renewal of the subcompact Sandero.
In Iran, sales more than doubled to 68,365 vehicles, while new models of the brand Lada helped to expand in 14% group sales on the Russian market.
Demand for vehicles in Russia and in Brazil should grow 5% or more in the year, said Renault. The company still sees global expansion of 1.5 to 2,5% market, up from previous forecast of 1.5 to 2%.
In Asia Pacific, sales rose by more than half, to 100,452 automobiles, according to the company, helped by the new Koleos SUV, in China, where sales more than tripled to almost 36000 vehicles.
