Toy industry expects growth of 10% in 2017

Unlike other sectors of the economy who designed retraction or minimum expansion for this year, the toy industry is expected to grow 10% in 2017, according to the Brazilian Association of toy manufacturers (Abrinq).
"The toy is disconnected from these economic problems, goes straight to the heart," says the President of the entity, Synésio Batista da Costa.
The performance of the domestic industry of toys have grown over the last eight years.
In accordance with the Abrinq, since 2009 the turnover grows continuously, always with high domestic production.
In 2016, the total revenue of the industry (retail price) was of the order of R $6,000,000 and R $3,400,000 national production.
The result means growth of 7% from 2015.
"In four years the national production will keep 70 percent of the market," believes the President of Abrinq.
Fairs
On the stage, there are more trade shows geared to the area.
In late June, a new toy fair takes place in São Paulo, directed at buyers, distributors, wholesalers, e-commerce, and trade representatives of toys.
The Expo will be presented the main novelties Toys in games, toys, child care, entertainment products, books and other items for children.
The event begins on day 25 and runs until 28 June and brings together more than 50 exhibitors, with estimated 4000 people.
Already the Abrin, third largest toy fair in the world and the largest in Latin America, will be at the beginning of the year and is a reference for the market. Presents general, educational toys and childcare, teaching, licensed products, among others.
According to Alexandre Torres de Carvalho, Director of ExpoToys, the children''s day and Christmas guarantee sales of the sector.

Carvalho also points out that the high dollar was crucial to the strengthening of the internal market.

Favorite toys
Firstly the preference of children, according to statistics of the Abrinq, led sales in the last year the dolls and puppets, with 18.7%; followed by the stands (15.1%), skates, scooters and battery-vehicles (12%) and the toys that replicate the real world (10.2%).
Sales by channel, highlighting the growth of the Internet, which came out of zero in 2009 and went for 20.5% of sales in the sector last year. The specialty stores are the sales champions, with 33.2%.
São Paulo is the largest market for the toy industry in the country, with 33%, followed by Rio de Janeiro (9.8%), Minas Gerais (8.3%), Santa Catarina (6.6%) and Paraná (6%). The data, from Abrinq, refer to sales of 2016.
