Apple, Dell and Kingston integrate Toshiba unit offer

Taipei-Apple, Dell and Kingston Technology are part of a consortium led by Foxconn to acquire Toshiba''s chip unit, said on Monday Terry Gou, founder and Chairman of the world''s largest electronics manufacturer.
Gou said that Amazon.com came close to joining the group, and that Foxconn was also in discussions with Google, Microsoft and Cisco Systems about your participation in the proposal by Toshiba''s chip Division.
The Executive declined to comment on the total value of the offer or say how much Apple and other American companies are planning to invest in the business.
"I can say that Apple is in for sure," said Gou in an interview, adding that the participation of the American company was approved by President Tim Cook and the Apple Board of Directors.
Foxconn, formerly known as Hon Hai Precision Industry, and the Japanese unit Sharp have combined slice of no more than 40%, Gou added.
