Orange juice stocks should grow at least 185% in crop

São Paulo – The global stocks of orange juice from Brazil must finish the season 2017/18 (July/June) with volumes between 200,000 and 300,000 tons, which means an increase of at least 185% in comparison with the projection for the closing of the current crop, which must terminate with the lowest levels in history, said on Friday the Association of exporters CitrusBR.
The increase should help replenish the inventories of orange juice from the largest global exporter of the commodity, "but without generating surpluses," said the Association in a statement, explaining that the growth is due to a strong recovery in crop expected in the main producing region of the country.
