Freudenberg adjusts strategy and projected expansion to 2017

São Paulo-Freudenberg, which operates mainly in the automotive industry in Brazil, is realigning the your strategy to continue growing. In 2017, the German Group designs grow from 1% to 3% in the country with the entry into new businesses.
"Our solutions are custom-made. We offer new products to our customers and reduce exposure in the face of crisis, "said the DCI Group regional representative for South America, Alexandre Bicalho.
Freudenberg-with seven factories in Brazil-reported high of 7.5% of revenues last year, even with the deep crisis in the automotive sector. "We made a major acquisition in 2016 and we have diversified our market performance", says the Executive.
In addition to the automotive segment, the Group manufactures components and products to meet renewable energy, industry, health, food and textiles.
The active portfolio of the Group revolves around 5500 customers and, according to Bamford, Freudenberg has been able to manage the increased costs in the country and the Exchange variation.
"We have a strong partnership with suppliers and customers and therefore so important to negotiate the costs and the exchange rate."
Investments
In 2017, the Group foresees investments of R $27,000,000 in South America. About 80% of this amount will be destined for Brazil. "Some of the tailored projects of our customers require capital," says Bamford.
In addition, exports will help the group to reduce currency exposure and increase capacity utilisation. "About 10% of our production is destined for the countries of South America."
Bamford asserts, however, view the political scenario with caution. "Despite this, I see signs of early recovery," says. According to him, the vehicle production is already improving. "Our expectation is that we have positive industry GDP in 2017."
