INB asks for license renewal for uranium and phosphate project in Ceara

A meeting between INB, Government of the State of Ceará and legislature resumed discussions about project Santa Quiteria, the Secretary of water resources, in Fortaleza (CE), on 18 January. In relation to the renewal of the pipeline installation, license expired in November 2016, the Ministry of water resources proved to be favorable and the expectation is that the renewal occurs in March this year. The construction of the pipeline, which will carry water from the dam Edson Queiroz to Itataia, is the responsibility of the State Government. In addition to providing water for the project, will also benefit nearby communities, such as the stream of stones and the settlements of Morrinhos and burned. The factories of Santa Quitéria project were designed so that all the water used be reused within the process itself.
The Consortium, comprising the INB Santa Quiteria and the company Galvani, visa the exploitation of uranium and phosphate which are associated in Itataia quarry, in the municipality of Santa Quiteria. With investments in R$ 850 million, the project will generate employment and economic development for the region.
