South will host international wine Fair in 2018

The Rio Grande do Sul will host a Latin American wine fair next year, probably in November. The confirmation came on Thursday, during a meeting between the Governor José Ivo Sartori; the Deputy Secretary of economic development, science and technology (Sdect), Evandro Fontana; and the Director-General of the Italian company Veronafiere, Giovanni Montovani. The city chosen was Bento Gonçalves. The Veronafiere is one of the companies of Europe expert in organization, which promotes the Vinitaly, in Italy, considered one of the leading wine fairs in the world.
The Director General, Giovanni Mantovani, stated that three criteria were decisive for choosing the region. "It is a city that produces wine, has organized sector. with class entities, has infrastructure for tourists and a good space for organizing a great event. In addition, the State is at the center of the Mercosur, "he recalled. The municipality also hosts Fenavinho, an event with 50 years of national and international tradition in promoting Brazilian wine.
