Drop in concern consumption sector

The increase in inflation indexes, which erodes the purchasing power of consumers, has gradually affected domestic demand for meat in the country. During event in the municipality of Juína, Mato Grosso, on Saturday (4), the Coordinator of the Rally expedition of livestock and partner at Agroconsult, Mauricio Palma Nogueira, assessed that 2017 promises to be the fourth consecutive year of decline in per capita consumption of three major proteins of animal origin-veal, poultry and pigs at the market.
"We''re having a replacement beef consumption by less noble proteins, even so, this transfer of consumption does not happen entirely," said the expert.
