Cheapest TV and cellular will affect market in 2017

The market for durable goods will have a drop of 7% in 2017 to 71 billion R$, pulled by indentation of prices on smartphones and TVs. According to Gisela, the year will be challenging in terms of demand, which will cause the volume of units sold do not advance enough to compensate for the fall in revenue. Between June and August, the GfK detected an improvement in demand for durable goods after 16 consecutive months of fall. In the period, there was a 7% growth in sales, especially for the month of July, which featured 13% advance. Geographically, the region of the greater São Paulo also recorded growth of 13%.
In comparison of the accumulated between January and August, the market presents fall of 3.4% to 56 billion R$. According to Gisela, the 4 k 4 g smartphones and TVs and big screen also were responsible for this result. With higher prices, they managed to hold the drop in the number of units sold. For 2016, the GfK expects a market retreat of 2%, with revenue of 76 billion R$.
