Sales of smartphones in Brazil fall in April and may

A strong reversal in the Smartphone market in April and may made the pass consulting expertise to predict drop in sales of those products in the country in 2015. "Smartphones are not armored against the economic moment that crosses in Brazil," said the consultancy in a note, after reporting that sales of these devices in the country fell 1 percent in April and 16% in May compared with the same months last year.
According to the survey, the sales amounted to 4.86 million units in April, and 3.89 million in May. For the second quarter, the IDC is forecasting that sales fall 12% in comparison with equal step of 2014.
The previous forecast was of at least 5% advance. In 2014, the Smartphone market grew approximately 56% of 54.5 million units. For this year, the IDC now predicts negative variation, but not detailed percentage. April and may are the months historically positive for the Smartphone market due to the proximity of dates as mother's day and Valentine's day.
