LEGO invests $ 145 mi to have herbal products

Lego will invest 1 billion Danish kroner (about 145 million dollars) to produce your blocks to assemble with bio-based plastic.
The idea is to reduce carbon emissions in the atmosphere.
The money will be applied in the "Centre of sustainable materials Lego", a laboratory of innovation that must employ more than hundred scientists between 2015 and 2016. He's going to be next to the company headquarters in Billund, in Denmark.

"This is the biggest step the Lego Group in our plan to achieve the ambition of having sustainable materials until 2030," said ceo Jørgen Vig Knudstorp, in a note.
The toy maker has already reduced the size of their packaging and invested in a wind farm "to leave a positive impact on the planet". "Now we are focusing on the materials", completed Knudstorp.
Lego itself admits that "ambition is challenging" and that will not be achieved alone, but through partnerships with other companies and experts.
The company also ensures that the appearance, quality and safety of Mount blocks will not be changed with the addition of biological substances in their manufacturing.
Point for Greenpeace
Last October, the Lego ended a partnership of more than 50 years with Shell on behalf of perforations that make oil in the Arctic this year.
By contract, the company's toys were distributed in fuel stations of Shell. The agreement ended, mainly thanks to pressure from Greenpeace.
The environmental protection agency created a campaign calling for the end of the agreement, endorsed by a video that has moved the public.
In it, the Arctic region, all built with blocks of Mount, was taken by an oil spill. The final message was: "the Shell is polluting the imagination of children".
At the time, Lego said it was "saddened" with the use of his image and that I should never have become part of the fight between the oil company Greenpeace.
The company also stressed that was determined to "leave a positive impact on society and the planet".
