Huawei's early in 100 million target smartphones

The Chinese Huawei Technologies, the fourth largest manufacturer of smart phones in the world, is ahead of the delivery of appliances and will reach its goal of 100 million units in 2015 before the end of the year, according to internal company data obtained by Reuters.
Huawei, based in Shenzhen, dispatched more than 10 million cell phones each month since may, said the head of the company's consumer unit, Richard Yu, in a memo sent to employees on Monday.
Huawei sold 75 million smartphones in 2014, below its original sales target of 80 million. Earlier on Monday, Huawei announced 30 percent increase in revenue in the first half, to 175.9 billion yuan (28.3 billion dollars) and said it will achieve "effective growth" in 2015.

The company had a 5.4 percent stake in the global smartphone market in the first quarter of this year, a distant fourth place behind Samsung Electronics, Apple and Lenovo Group, according to the research firm Gartner.
