Coopercentral Aurora acquires the Chapecó pigs Food industry

The Central Cooperative Aurora Foods announced last Thursday (17/07) the acquisition of the industrial unit of slaughter and processing of pigs from the old food manufacturing company, Chapecó in Chapecó, which was leased from December 2003. The nominal value of the transaction was $ 235 million in funding for a period of 12 years by four financial institutions: Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES), ABC Bank, Banco do Brazil and Regional Bank for the development of the extreme South (BRDE). The new unit occupies strategic role in the effort to expand the lines of processed products of Aurora.
The meatpacking industry has installed capacity to shoot down 2,700 pigs per day, but processes currently 2,000 heads/day. The priority of the Aurora on unit is industrialize the pork, generating a product mix in sausage, smoked sausages, sausages, hams, frescais God, and salted meat, in addition to cuts. In 2003, time of rental, the company obtained a 50% increase in installed capacity of industrialization.
In 2014, this unit shot and processed 510 thousand pigs produced 46.5 tons of fresh pork and industrialized 80.6 million tons of meat products.
