Food and beverage prices rose 0.92 percent in April this year

In April, the CVCS (cost of living by Social Class) recorded 0.68% advance, according to the survey conducted monthly by FecomercioSP (Federation of trade in goods, services and tourism of the State of São Paulo). Despite being considered high, the index represents a slowdown in price developments this year. In the first quarter, the indicator reached 1.21% in January; 1.26% in February; and 1.55% in March. The high of 4.78% accumulated CVCS in 2015 and of 7.87 percent in the last 12 months. The food and drink group was what else contributed to the high of the month, the present rise of 0.92% compared to March, racking up 4.02% inflation in the year and 8.58% in 12 months. Classes D and e were the most affected with the increase in prices in April. The high were 0.77 percent and 0.79 percent, respectively. These products feature great representativeness on the family budget of these classes. Including the year is 5.2% while the variation in 12 months reached 8.5%. The class was the least impaired with rising prices.
For the FecomércioSP, although the results of April have been more pleasing than those observed in the first three months of the year, prices of products and services in the metropolitan region of São Paulo still stand high in the last 12 months and upward trajectory.
