Chemical industry accumulated deficit of $ 9.9 bi in the year until may

The national chemical industry accumulated trade deficit of $ 9.9 billion between January and may 2015, according to the Brazilian chemical industry Association (Abiquim). Thermoplastic resins, with sales of $ 707 million, were the most exported chemicals across the country between January and may, according to the Abiquim. "The quantity imported chemicals has been dropping since November 2014, showing stagnation in the month of may, which evidences the fall in production and consumption of goods downstream on the value chain", points Denise Naranjo, Director of Trade Affairs outside the Abiquim.
