Shipments of chicken meat from Brazil rise 7% in March

Brazilian exports of chicken rose 7% in March, compared with the same month of 2014, to 348.9 million tons, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal protein (ABPA).
March shipments managed to minimize losses accumulated in the first two months of the year, totalling $ 928.7 million tons in the first quarter, only 0.2 percent below the first quarter of 2014.
"Overcome the obstacles we face in February, shipments resumed its pace and allow us to keep the predictions that we have regarding the balance of 2015, in particular, on the opening of two new markets, Pakistan and Malaysia," said the President of ABPA, Francisco Turra.
The actual billing rose 29% in March compared to the previous year, to $ 1,820 billion, although the dollar value fell 4.3% to $ 579,9 million, due to the strong variation of the exchange rate in recent months.
Second Turra, the sector should keep caution in managing the flow and internal challenges demand that we have this year. /Agencies
