Danone accelerates in Europe and the USA

Danone, one of the largest manufacturers of yogurt in the world, had an increase of 4.6% in sales for the third quarter, to € 5.6 billion, excluding the foreign exchange impact and selling operations. Note-If acceleration in sales in Europe and the United States and slowdown in the region covering Brazil.
In the region that includes Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East and Africa, and where Brazil is included, the expansion of the sales of Danone lost pace, from 9.4% in the second quarter to 4.7% from July to September this year. On this market, Danone reported that the growth in sales of chilled products continues, despite the volatility in some emerging countries. "A solid performance in Mexico has reduced less favourable trend in Brazil, where the economy has depressed the consumption".
Sales in Europe grew by 5.1% in the second quarter, the increase was of 1.8% and sales of products that need the fridge were declining. In the third quarter, the trend has changed. In the United States and Canada, is the same, with sales growing 0.4 percent in the second quarter and 3.2 percent in the third.
The Division of nutrition for babies showed the best performance among the four of Danone, with increased sales of 10.9%. Much of this was due to the expansion strategy of exporting premium products manufactured in Europe (in particular Aptamil and Nutrilon) to China. After the contaminated milk scandal in 2008, have shaken the confidence of Chinese consumers, the Government hunted the manufacturing license of 51 companies last year.
In the Medical Nutrition Division, Danone had double-digit expansion in Brazil, China and Turkey. Global growth was 6.9% in the third quarter.
Sales of Danone's Evian brand owner-increased 6.8%. The chilled dairy products, the biggest deal of Danone, rose just 0.6 percent.
The company provides price saltier in the coming months for supplies such as milk and packaging.
