Electrolux seeks rescue deal with GE

The President of Electrolux, Keith McLoughlin, said he believed that the $ 3.3 bi to buy the appliance business of General Electric (GE) can be retrieved even after the United States had moved to block it.
The Department of Justice (DoJ) USA filed suit last Wednesday (1) to paralyze the negotiations, arguing that it would damage competition in the market for appliances.
The operation, which was released in September last year, would be the largest in the history of Swedish company and more than double its annual sales in the United States.
According to Reuters, the ceo of Electrolux, Keith McLoughlin, wants to preserve as much as you can of the agreement.
"I don't see a scenario in which, by any of the parties, make much sense to split the baby," said McLoughlin, who is American.
The Executive remained confident that the deal could still be completed by the end of this year, although the negotiations on the medication with the Department of Justice (DOJ) have so far been unsuccessful.
American Justice has reported that the deal could affect consumers through higher prices on the major kitchen appliances. GE's portfolio are refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, air conditioners, among others.
