Won by Johnnie Walker, cachaça João Andante exits the market

Cachaça mineira João Andante, accused of imitation (translation of the mark) by Johnnie Walker Scotch, will exit the market. The logos of the two drinks have a drifter, and in João Andante appears a man look more poor, while the the Johnnie Walker is a noble.
The Brazilian brand was won by Diageo, which owns the Johnnie Walker brand, which triggered the INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property) last year. The João Andante was forbidden to use the name and also the drawing of the man walking on the label.
Cachaça João Andante leaves the market, but trademark owners do not. They created a new spirit, named the Andante. The new drink will keep the design – but now with no legs in the image of the drifter.
The Johnnie Walker, in a note, States that want to protect the consumer of products "that can generate direct comparison and sound reproduction or copy".
Cachaça João Andante emerged as a hobby of four young people from Minas Gerais, which created a logo that parody the image of Johnnie Walker Scotch whisky. Per month, they sold about 200 bottles. After Diageo filed a lawsuit for plagiarism sales increased five-fold.
