TRADE CONFIDENCE BACK UP 3.1%

According to the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), the trade confidence index (Icom) fell 3.1 percent on average for the quarter ended April compared with the same period last year, reaching 119.4 points. Until the month of March, the fall was of 2.1% compared to the previous year. "The overall result of the survey signals the pace of deceleration of economic activity sector at the turn between the first and second quarters of 2014", highlighted the FGV. The Restricted retail sector confidence had downtown 0.6% until April and Expanded retail, which also includes vehicles, motorcycles and parts and material for construction, retreated 2.8 percent. Wholesale was decrease of 3.3%.
