Moulin family acquires 6.1% of Carrefour

The Moulin family of France, owner of luxury store Galeries Lafayette, has confirmed the purchase of 44.2 million shares of Carrefour SA, representing 6.1% of the share capital of the group, second Motier Holding, investment vehicle for Moulin family. The company has not reported details of the deal, but the values arrive at about 1.29 billion euros (US $ 1.77 billion). With the purchase, the French family becomes the third largest shareholder in the retailer behind the Group of private equipy Colony Capital LLC and the holding company of French businessman Bernard Arnault.
