It seems funny, but it's hard to sell drinks in Brazil

São Paulo – don't be fooled by the bars crowded tonight: sell drinks in Brazil hasn't been easy. The finding is of Milton Seligman, Vice President of corporate relations of Ambev. According to the Executive, 2013 being a "very difficult" year for the company.
In an interview with the associated press, Seligman stated that three factors influence today the sale of drinks in Brazil: income, climate and price. "With high food inflation and the dollar appreciated, it is hard not to pass on costs on the values of the products", explains the Executive.
Seligman reminded the good performance of the company in the last quarter of 2012 and the bad results in the first three months of 2013. "We read early the year, which allowed us to take quick decisions," said the Executive. He believes that Ambev could still close the year with good numbers of revenue, despite the bad sales.
At the end of August, the possibility of Ambev overcome the results of the last year has been ruled out by Nelson Jamel, Chief Financial Officer and investor relations officer of the company. Today, the company's market value is estimated at around 250 billion reais. Ambev is one of the sponsors of the 2014 World Cup. The hope is that the event wakes up again the seat of Brazilians.
