Kimberly Clark has the highest profit in second quarter

(Reuters)-Kimberly-Clark, best known for manufacturing of Kleenex tissues, announced a quarterly profit higher on Monday, with cost-cutting helped offset the negative impact of exchange rates.
Still, the company maintained its Outlook for the year, which provides earnings per share from 5.60 to 5.75 dollars to 2013, excluding items. The estimate includes the expectation of greater cost reduction, but also encompasses a larger than expected impact of the appreciation of the dollar, which affects the results in international markets.
Kimberly Clark had profit of 526 million dollars, or 1.36 dollars a share, in the second quarter, up from 498 million dollars, or 1.26 dollars per share, a year earlier.
Excluding restructuring costs related to changes in its European business, profit was 1.41 dollar per share. On that basis, analysts had expected on average a profit of $ 1.39 per share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/s.
Sales were almost stable at 5.27 billion dollars, below the analysts ' estimate of 5.34 billion dollars.
