After 29 years in operation, Santher terminates its activities in Governador Valadares

Operating in the city for 29 years, the paper industry Santher reported closing unit of Governador Valadares (MG) on Wednesday (16). According to the company''s press release, the decision was made in light of the crisis through which the country is going.
In a statement, the company noted that there is no solution for the continuity of the industry and that all production will be redistributed by other units of the company. "With a view to maintaining the competitiveness before the Brazilian market and seeking to transpose this serious economic moment that the country faces, Santher took the difficult decision to discontinue the production with the consequent closure of the manufacturing unit of Governador Valadares.
One of the employees dismissed is the locksmith Valter Pandey, who for 26 years worked at the factory and was surprised by the news. "We understand that the production was falling, via that wasn''t normal, but when we got to work today and we were notified of the closing, everyone was taken by surprise. The tests all layoffs are already scheduled for tomorrow, "he says.
Currently 138 people worked in the unit, which was opened in 1987. The production and distribution of the products will be carried out by three other units located in the States of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul.
