Dutch company develops packaging of infant milk with self-heating

The Dutch company Aestech announced to have developed a pack of milk food for babies with self-heating. The package includes a compartment for powder milk, water and nipping.
"Unlike existing self-heating packaging, mainly metal cans with coffee or tea, premixed, this packaging has a compartment where the milk powder is stored, while the element that raises the heating is located in the bottom of the camera be greater, which contains water," Aestech said in a statement. "In other words, it is not a question of a premixed product as ingredients (vitamins and milk powder) are stored separately from the water, keeping it dry until the moment of consumption, keeping the power of supplements", concludes the note.
According to Aestech, the package has four compartments. The above, with an activation button, contains dry matter (powdered milk and vitamins) and is hermetically sealed with aluminum foil. The space between this Board and the heating element is the compartment that contains the water to be heated. The heating element is totally immersed in water to ensure an intensive contact with the liquid and prevent direct contact of the hot area. The heating element is filled with calcium oxide, which reacts with water to form calcium hydroxide, which generates heat.
The water needed for this reaction is located in a tube, and mixes with the heating element through the activation button at the top of the Pack. About two minutes later, and shaking up the packaging, the product reaches the ideal temperature of 37 degrees. Then the nozzle is attached to the packing (see diagram below).
