NET PROFIT of LOJAS AMERICANAS RISES 49.3%

The Lojas Americanas SA (LAME3, LAME4) recorded net income of r $ 54.2 million in the first quarter of the year, a gain of 49.3%. Consolidated net profit grew by 39.9%, reaching R $ 57.5 million.
The company's net revenue rose 28% on the same comparative basis, reaching R $ 1,851 billion in the quarter, up from $ 1317 billion in same period in 2012.
The Ebitda (operating income before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of the company also rose, with advancement of 27.4%, totaling R $ 276,8 million and 15% margin.
The selling expenses General and administrative, were 15.6% of net revenues in the quarter, an increase of -0.4 percentage points over the same period last year. In consolidated, such costs were 17% of net revenue.
