Grendene will build the new factory in Ceará

After meeting with the President of the State Council for economic development, Alexander Pereira, and directors of the company Grendene, was committed to construction in Ceará of a new installation of the shoe manufacturer. The new plant will be located in Sobral, Northern State, and will be the eighth unit in the municipality.

With an area of 26,000 square meters, the new plant of Grendene in Sobral will raise production capacity to 40 million pairs of shoes and generate about 4,000 jobs, and should start operating this year. With the expansion, the production capacity in the State reaches 240 million pairs per year. The company's investment in the construction and installation of the new plant is to the tune of R$60 million.

According to Alexander Pereira, the expansion of the industrial park of Grendene will encourage the population not only of Sobral, but of the entire area north, with benefits for all. "This new plant is important because it extends a company with consolidated performance in the State, generating more jobs and income for the population," said the Secretary.
